The construction project involves the construction of a new cycle and pedestrian tunnel under the railway line, a new coach park and work in the surrounding areas at the Gent-Dampoort station. A new tunnel is being built under the track to create a safer cycling connection. The cycle paths are largely being installed using a concrete U-passage. The new tunnel under the track is realised using the box jacking method, with the tunnel going through the railway embankment. The jacked tunnel is 23m long.
