The residential care campus, located in the centre of Gierle, was developed on the former industrial site where an old dairy stood. The campus consists of 30 assisted housing units, a residential care centre with 44 rooms and an underground car park. The buildings have alternating 1, 2 and up to 3 storeys.

The assisted housing extends along Melkerijstraat and Schoolstraat, while the residential care centre is located parallel to Molenstraat. The objective was to spatially, visually and functionally relate the project to the historic village.

There is also due attention to greenery by providing for the linking of various types of outdoor spaces: a public square on the corner Melkerijstraat-Molenstraat, a semi-public courtyard garden for the assisted housing units and a private courtyard garden for the residential care centre.
