Het stuk van de rotonde N8 tot aan de Waalse grens krijgt nieuwe asfalt, nieuwe veilige fietspaden en comfortabele bushaltes. Ook de rotonde in Brakel (Rondplein) wordt heraangelegd met gescheiden fietspaden. Tenslotte krijgen ook de Boekkouter en de Kimpestraat een heraanleg in asfalt. Daarnaast komen er faunapassages aan de kruisingen met de Molenbeek en wordt het afvalwater gescheiden, zodat het niet langer terecht komt in de waterlopen.
