Het hoofddoel van de werken is om gescheiden riolering en fietspaden aan te leggen in de Kanaalstraat en de Oudstrijdersstraat. Daarvoor moet deze straat volledig opengebroken worden en daarom zullen we ze ook ineens vernieuwen. Daarnaast zullen ook de nutsleidingen in de Kanaalstraat en Oudstrijdersstraat onder de grond gebracht worden.
